Daily Management

Gomde is managed daily by a dedicated community of volunteers led by Erik Pema Kunsang and inspired by the vast vision of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche. Residents and non-residential sangha members collaborate across various responsibilities, including gardening, kitchen duties, online activities, programming, managing Strandgården, finances, and more. By connecting with the resident community and expressing a willingness to contribute, anyone can participate in these areas, helping to uphold and nurture Gomde.

While core decisions and guidance are provided by Erik Pema Kunsang and long-term residents, Gomde’s daily management remains flexible and accessible to all who wish to assist.

Legal Structure and Essential Information

Gomde Denmark operates as two distinct legal entities: the Rangjung Yeshe Foundation and the Rangjung Yeshe Sangha Association.

  • The Rangjung Yeshe Foundation was established to purchase, manage, and operate the Gomde retreat center under the spiritual guidance of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche.
  • The Rangjung Yeshe Sangha Association is a Danish democratic organization created to support the foundation’s work and is eligible to receive tax-deductible donations.

Detailed information about the foundation and the association, as required by Danish law, is provided below.

Rangjung Yeshe Sangha Association

CVR Number: 34 66 15 34

Founded on July 5, 2010, with the presence and support of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche, the Rangjung Yeshe Sangha Association provides a democratic framework for Gomde Denmark’s community.

In 2012, the association was approved by the Danish Family Agency as a religious congregation for the Ka-Nying lineage, making it legally eligible to receive donations. Danish citizens can get tax deductions for contributions up to 15.000 dkk pr year.

The association also manages Tashi Delek, a humanitarian initiative supporting sponsorships for monks and nuns in Nepalese monasteries under Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche’s guidance.

Membership

Membership in the Rangjung Yeshe Sangha Association is open to everyone. Its primary purpose is to maintain the legal eligibility to receive donations while upholding and nurturing the Ka-Nying lineage. Although a minimum number of members is required to sustain the association, membership does not offer exclusive benefits; non-members can equally participate in Gomde’s activities.

Annual Membership Fee: 200 DKK
