Individual Retreat
A unique space for practice
Let calm, love and insight permeate from within
Exploring the Most Important
Retreat means stepping back from the busyness of daily life and giving yourself time to deeply settle, explore what is most important, and allow freedom to arise from within. Gomde offers a space held by years of heartfelt practice, blessed by many realized masters, and embraced by the vastness of nature. Here, you can reconnect with what truly matters and discover a trustworthy path within.
Meaning of Retreat
Retreat is not about escaping life, but about meeting it fully. It’s a time to sit quietly and look within honestly. It’s about exploring timeless methods to transform and open up, like a flower in the rays of the sun. Whether you spend your days meditating, walking in the forest, studying texts, or simply sitting with open awareness, retreat is a chance to let what is most meaningful come forth.
In retreat we resolve the most important:
“I will occupy this awareness with dharma”
Retreat at Gomde
Gomde is shaped by dharma and the blessings of teachers like Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche. The natural surroundings, the uplifting temple, and the shared spirit of fellow practitioners create an environment that supports genuine practice. Whether your retreat is focused on meditation, study, or contemplation, the space here naturally encourages openness and insight.
Taking Retreat Home
The value of retreat is not only in the time spent here but in how it ripples into all aspects of life and interactions. The calm, clarity and kindness you make room for in retreat naturally carries with you into whichever life you are living, to discover ways of meeting challenges with greater ease, and seeing others with warmth and less seriousness.
Welcome to a space of simplicity, openness, easing the heart and and refreshing our view on everything.

Retreat in the Deepest Sense
By remaining in seclusion we can achieve a certain level of quietness. With less distractions and obligations, there is room to go deeper and see clearer. As body and mind calm down we are more free to look at habits with honesty, make room for compassion and therefore to recognize the natural state of mind.
In retreat we practice dharma until the point where we are no longer distracted by anything. The quietness and compassion has become a truly free state of mind, available wherever we are.
