The Timeless Buddha in Each of Us
Everyone’s present reality is pictured by the timeless and primordial buddha, Samantabhadra.
This timeless cosmic principle is also each of us on our deepest level. The male form is our aware and concious quality, while the female is the spacious dimension within which every experience unfolds.
The purpose of all dharma practice is to experience naked reality within which there is no duality of subject and object. That is why the timeless buddha is in union, showing that space and wakefulness is never apart.
The Timeless Dharma
The awakening mind of the timeless buddha communicates through images and sounds. The sounds become instructions and methods to liberate all mind from duality and unknowing. These words and methods are compiled as tantras.
The buddha Vajrasattva means awakened state of indestructible presence and is the source of endless teaching in our and countless other worlds.
The practice of approaching and realizing Vajrasattva is like an entrance door to the teachings of tantra, known as vajrayana. This is a path taken by countless previous meditators.
At Gomde, people are introduced to and explained how to take this path and use it as daily meditation.
The Buddha for our time
Highly regarded as the Second Buddha, Padmasambhava is a symbol of boundless compassion and wisdom and the capacity to melt away every obstacle. Out of his great love for people across centuries, he ensured that the tantric teachings would be accessible to every sincere woman and man. Known as the Lotus-Born, he illustrates our innate capacity to deal with all situations, whether pleasant or painful, and has provided countless methods to free our minds from the darkness of unknowing and the turbulent sea of self-centered emotions.
Padmasambhava taught in close connection with Yeshe Tsogyal, the princess of Karchen, his lover and closest student. Through her unparalleled love, devotion and effort, she ensured that the teachings were preserved and concealed as treasures for future generations. Due to the kindness and dedication of Princess Tsogyal, we still have access to countless profound methods given by the Lotus-Born master.
The Great Mystic
& Revealer of Dharma Treasures
Just a few generations ago, during the time of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche grandmother, lived Chokgyur Lingpa, a man like few others.
Chokgyur Lingpa rediscovered countless teachings given by Padmasambhava, a collection of treasure texts today known as The Profound Treasures of Chokling.
He was not merely a treasure revealer but a bridge to the sacred wisdom of Guru Rinpoche, unearthing teachings that radiate with immediacy and relevance even today. Among his unparalleled legacies are the Gradual Path of the Wisdom Essence, Lamrim Yeshe Nyingpo and Guru’s Realization Dispelling all Obstacles, Tukdrub Barchey Kunsel.
A practice, especially meant for our time, was revealed as Samantabhadra’s awakened mind appearing in the form of Buddha Vajrasattva. This practical and profound text was brought to light by the mystic visionary Chokgyur Lingpa. Short and deep, this practice is perfectly suited for our era. It can be applied immediately, yet reveals new layers of meaning and insight with each passing year.
Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche
In the heart of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche reside buddha Vajrasattva. Inside Vajrasattvas heart is the timeless buddha Samantabhadra. As we connect with this lineage of enlightenment, the history is no longer in the past, but it is brought into our present experience. This is the promise of transmission of blessing and inspiration, which is open for each of us to fulfilled.
Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche was a master of profound simplicity, embodying the essence of Dzogchen and Mahamudra teachings. With his gentle presence and crystal-clear instructions, he opened the door to the nature of mind for countless practitioners.
Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling
Gomde Denmark is part of an international community of retreat centers, connected to Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling in Kathmandu Nepal. This grand monastery were established by Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, and is overseen by Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche.
At Ka-Nying, the heart of the Buddha’s realization is sustained and shared. The practice tradition of Chokgyur Lingpa flourish and Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche advices everyone to live as scholar-practitioners.
